Metereolozi objašnjavaju da je na Uralu temperatura pala puno ispod nule, te su se u vazduhu formirali sitni ledeni šestougaoni kristali, koji se ne mogu videti golim okom, a kroz koje se prelamaju sunčevi zraci.
Tako je nastao optički fenomen "Halo", koji se može pojaviti u različitim oblicima - u vidu pruga, mrlja, lukova ili krugova, koji su najčešći.
